One of my daughter’s girlfriend’s daughter celebrated her 18th birthday last weekend…talk about making me feel really old really quick LOL…My daughter asked me to make her a card but she specifically told me not to spend a lot of time on it…she said no 5 or 6 hours….my first thought was no way LOL..but I quickly accepted the challenge, honestly I think that time frame really helped because I quickly came up with the idea for this design….
I had just gotten the balloon stencil so I decided to use it with Dreamweaver’s Translucent embossing paste to add some texture and some glitter. I used the translucent because I loved the color of the glitter so I didn’t want any color in the embossing paste that would change the color of the glitter….I used the Heavenly White 120# for the base and it held up perfectly….didn’t warp the cardstock at all! Then I just die cut the sentiment at the bottom with Punch Mica/metallic cover weight since this sentiment will rip easily unless you use a strong cardstock. Also used the Punch Mica/metallic to cut out the 18 and added some Ranger’s Stickles to add the glitter to the numbers. Found the cake from an old sticker set from Pink Paislee and wallah and card in about 30 minutes! May just start adding a time restriction on all my designs since it worked out wonderfully this time!
