When trying to plan my post, I decided to use a stamp set from Stampin’ Up called Butterfly Basics. The base for my card is Gumdrop Green Pop Tones. The main stamped image is done on Cryogen White. The sentiment and the coral butterfly are also done on Cryogen White. The dark brown butterfly is cut from Bronze Mica Metallic. So the cryogen has a slight glimmer and so does the Bronze Mica Metallic. A little bling was added to the small butterfly.
I would like to explain about the background a little bit. The technique is called misted Stencils. I placed my stencil on a craft sheet and sprayed the stencil with several glitter sprays. I then placed the paper on top and picked up the pattern from the sprayed stencil. After I got the honey comb pattern in the background and let the piece dry, I added the other stamping. From this technique you can actually get two background pieces. If you put one piece of cardstock down with the stencil on top and then spritz the stencil and add a piece of cardstock on top of the stencil.
I love making my own patterned cardstock!
