I have been on a card making frenzy lately…I haven’t been able to get in my studio as much as I want to so when I got a chance I made it count….and did I have fun….my studio is my happy place so needless to say I have been happy lately! So here goes…This is the only birthday card that I made but just think it is too cute…the little bugs are an older design from Cottage Cutz…..aren’t they just toooooo cute! The background was creating using the chevron die from MFT that I just broke down and bought, I have been drooling over this die for a long time…found it on sale and it instantly hit my shopping cart! Since the background ended up so colorful I decided to make the little bugs colorful too…I have shown this card to my grandchildren and I can tell by their reaction that whoever gets this card it will make them smile…that is the reaction that we are going for right??
All the cardstock I used on this card comes from the Malermo Perle paperline…I love this paperline and I use it often since it is a heavyweight card (92#) so you can use it for the base or anywhere on the card…it also comes in a text weight but I used the heavyweight paper for this design. It also has a slight sparkle to it which adds another element to any design.
Now this really cute new baby card is 100% PaperTemptress cardstock..even the background…you might remember seeing this background…I created it with the metallic Pan Pastels using Heavenly White 80# a while back…decided I should finally use it LOL! The ADORABLE elephants and the sentiment are also a favorite MFT stamp and die that I had to get too…I am sure you see why LOL…But what totally surprised me was die cutting the elephants…for the first time ever I used PaperTemptress’s Heavenly White 120# to die cut the elephants…trust me I will ALWAYS use the HW 120# now since the die cut Elephants feel like chipboard die cuts that you pay good money for…I was really impressed with the way the die cut Elephants turned out! I used PaperTemptress’s Yummy Iridescent Vellum to cut out the oval for the sentiment and the LaLaLand banner die…..I had forgotten about having to hide the adhesive because it shows thru the vellum. I put the adhesive behind the sentiment which is why the oval isn’t flat, Since the oval still wasn’t strong enough so I tried to hide the adhesive behind the edges of the oval and well you can see how well that turned out LOL…but I thought it looked okay so left it there….you know it has the homemade look (right?)
I made 2 more new baby cards but think you guys have probably had enough of me for right now so I will show them next time…and hopefully I will have more made since the more time I spend in my happy place the happier I am!
