Christmas Candy Box

my cards 009My project this post is very simple, but I just love this little box.  It perfectly holds one piece of homemade candy.  The box is made from Kraft.  I stamped a 6 inch x 6 inch piece with a cover a card stamp from Impression Obsession.  I used Barn Door Distress ink around the edges.   The tag is made from Emerald Green Linen.  The red ribbon is Heavenly Red Organza with satin center.  The green was a scrap I had on my desk.

Now I am going to share the directions.  The base is 6 inches x 6 inches.  It uses a Envelope Punch Board to punch and score the sides.  Punch and score at 1 3/8″.  Slide down to 4″ and punch and score.  Rotate piece of cardstock and punch and score on all the score lines on all sides.  I rounded all the corners.  Next fold on all score lines.  Cut down on both sides of large tab down to the first score line.   Hold large tabs together and punch small oval.  Glue the small tabs down.  Make bottom of box by gluing the cute edges to the scored line of the large tab.  Very simple.

Now how about my candy recipe.  This is a large recipe, but I love getting it all done at once.  Also whenever some little thing comes up and I want a little gift have homemade candy to give.

Ingredients

1- 16 oz jar(s) unsalted peanuts

1-16 oz jar(s) salted peanuts

1-12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips

1-12 oz bag of milk chocolate chips

2-10 oz bags of peanut butter chips

2-1 lb pkg white almond bark

Layer all ingredients in large crockpot (starting with peanuts).  Turn the pot on low, cover with lid and leave siting for 2 hours.  Then removes lid and stir to combine.  Replace lid and leave sitting for another 30 minutes.  Stir again and then spoon mixture onto wax paper or nonstick aluminum foil.  Allow to harden for at least 1 hour.
