It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas . . .

Hi, to all our crafty friends and family!!!

Kathy, here today, wanting to share with you a few Christmas cards I’ve done in the past few weeks . . . and what a perfect time for it, too, with it being snowy (well, here’s it’s a bit icy underneath the snow from last night).  And with the Christmas Specialy package on sale at PaperTemptress for 25% off along with Kraft paper and all Mica/Metallic papers, you will have all you need for Christmas cards . . . GREAT paper and inspiration.

The first card I want to share is one I did using one of my all-time favorite PaperTemptress papers – White Crepe (ruche) paper along with Heavy Vellum, Heavenly White 120# paper and Cryogen White paper (all from PaperTemptress ).  I had chosen a digi image called “New Baby” by Ike’s Art for Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet because I thought it would make a PERFECT Christmas card and remind us how Christmas started.  Here’s how it turned out:

Supplies:

Heavy Vellum from PaperTemptress
Heavenly White 120# paper from PaperTemptress
Cryogen White paper from PaperTemptress
White Crepe (ruche) paper from PaperTemptress
“Metallic Vintage Gold Sparkle” WOW! Embossing Powder
Vintage Gold Glitter
Raindrops from PaperTrey Ink
misc. gold ribbon
gold glitter
sealer (for the glitter on mat)
sentiment from Close To My Heart

For this digi, I did “digital” embossing.  This is where you print your image on a slick paper, a paper that the ink doesn’t dry instantly, so you can put embossing powder on it RIGHT after it comes out of the printer (I am standing right next to printer with embossing powder in hand so the ink doesn’t dry before I can put the powder on it) and then use a heat embossing gun to emboss it.  Since I was using vellum and I always have a hard time with my vellum curling as I use my heat gun, I decided to try something a bit different . . . I attached my image to my Heavenly White 120# paper from PaperTemptress before heat embossing instead of waiting to do so afterwards. And guess what?  It worked!!!  NO curls! YAY!
Since I didn’t have any glitter paper, I took some Cryogen White paper from PaperTemptress , trimmed down to the size I needed and put glitter on outer 1/4″ of the paper . . . then used a sealer so I didn’t get glitter everywhere. After adding the ribbon and a few Raindrops, I put all my layers together . . . VOILA!  I was done . . . and I am VERY happy with the way it turned out.  So simple, but elegant!

Here’s a few closeups:

in the city of David a Saviour
which is Christ the Lord.”

And here’s a couple other cards I’d like to share that I made this past week using PaperTemptress papers.  For the 1st one, I used Jupiter Red mica/Metallic paper and Cryogen White paper . . . and the 2nd one I used White Crepe (ruche) paper, White Leather and Red Pepper Skinny Columns.
