A touch of Vellum

MY card for today is very simple but yet I think very pretty. Last year I decided that my theme for Christmas cards was going to be raindeer/deer which meant that every card was going to have a raindeer/deer on it. I bough several raindeer/deer to use, I think maybe 2 cards went out with a raindeer/deer on it…Honestly I think it was just my excuse to add more stamps to my stash LOL…Well this year I have decided that Poinsettia are going to be my theme and have found some BEAUTIFUL stamps and dies that I can use…this year I also think I will meet the challenge of using Poinsettia’s on my Christmas Cards especially since I have found this particular Poinsettia.  I found this stamp set  at Joann.com from a company I really haven’t heard about but this stamp set it just gorgous.  Anyway, I truly believe that just a touch of Vellum really makes a card more elegant.  The way I took the photo makes it look like the vellum is attached crooked but trust me it isn’t LOL….even though most of my cards are a touch crooked!20141119-IMG_8432
This card was soooo easy…I stamped the beautiful Poinsettia on Clear Vellum and then embossed with Ranger’s Queen’s Gold embossing powder (beautiful embossing powder). I colored the back of the stamped sheet with Pan Pastels which is quickly becoming a color medium that I am using quite often since it is simpler then copics and COMPLETELY erasable so if you make a mistake or don’t like the color you can erase it. Then I attached the Vellum to Red BASIS cardstock with the red and green brads.  Then used a die that I recently purchased  from PaperSmooches to give it a little texture.  Easy Peasy just the way I like them!
