Hi, all my crafty friends and family!!!
Kathy, here today to share with you some “Mother’s Day” cards I have made this past week or so for a challenge blog (Hiding In My Craft Room).
The first one I did for National Scrapbook Day and I would call it a CAS card except for the fact that there are no straight edges because I used doily die cuts to make the card base and layers . . . and there are so many definitions of CAS cards. 🙂 Anyway, using Cryogen White for my image and the very back layer, I added Pink Lemonaide Pop Tunes for another layer, giving it a delicate and feminine look to it. Here’s how it turned out:
For the second card, I used paper from the “Valentine’s” paper package from The Paper Temptress . . . it had so many different reds, pinks, creams, golds, etc. that it was hard to chose which ones to use. But chose, I did. 🙂 (Oh, and right now all variety paper packages are 25% off at The Paper Temptress. ) Here’s how it turned out:
Using my Sprllbinders “Romantic Retangles (#S5-090) and the Rose Quartz Mica/Metallic
, I created the base of my card. The next layer is Gold Mica/Metallic Text
(which means it is a lighter weight version of the Mica/Metallic paper) and the creamy paper at top is Opal Metallic
. And the paper at the bottom are scraps from “Summer Stories” 6×6 paper pad by Teresa Collins. I used pink rhinestones from the Lost ‘n Found collection by MME at each corner of the base of the card, at the top right of the front and under the word’s “Happy Mother’s Day” (which I added at the bottom of the tulip digi before I printed it on Cryogen White
I did a third “Mother’s Day” card for another Design Team I am on ( by Blue Moon Creations) using the same papers from The Paper Temptress I did for my second card Mother’s Day card and using two stamp sets from — “”. If you would like to see it, please visit my blog . I would post it here today, but since I’ve already shown two (2) cards, I don’t want to overwhelm this post. 🙂

I hope I was able to give you some inspiration for making a card or cards for the special woman/women in your life, especially with Mother’s Day just around the corner.
Till the next time I’m up in the night.
