Stitches & Swirls Thank You Note

Nancy here stepping in for Anita who is sick and has sick kiddos.  Hope they all feel better soon!

It’s always nice to have Thank You notes on hand so I decided to make one for today’s post.  I thought it would be fun to show you how to make your own designer paper.  I used a great stamp set by Paperty Ink called Stitches & Swirls.

I used gray ink on the card that I made.  The stamp set is made of clear polymer so it didn’t really show up with the gray ink so I made another background using black ink on the stamp shown here:

I used my favorite paper for copics which is Cryogen White.  Cryogen is kind of sparkly when seen at certain angles in the light.  First step is to make sure that you have scratch paper underneath the paper you are stamping on.  Instead of stamping the image in the center of the card, I stamped it in the bottom left-hand corner.  As you can see, some of the ink stamped onto the scratch paper underneath.  The two papers are almost exactly the same so I moved the Cryogen over so you could see the scratch paper.

I turned the paper over and stamped the image again onto the bottom left hand corner.  I placed the one I finished on the left side of the photo so you can kind of see how the stamped image on the right is similar to how I stamped it on the first one.

I colored the flowers and leaves with copics and tries to give it somewhat of a soft touch.

I used Amethyst for the frame and the word “Thanks”.  I love the shimmer of the paper.  A great hint is to cut out the center of the frame just smaller than the paper that you are framing so that you can use it for other projects as shown in the photo below.

Here is the finished card again.  I added some lace, floral ribbon and some little pearls for a final touch.

Thank you for stopping by!   I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial today.  Have a great week!
