Hi again everyone. It’s Roberta back again today.
Today it’s time to show off a very manly Valentine’s Day card that still has hearts all over it. That can be a tough one, right? I have to say that I’m thrilled with the way this one turned out. Hope you like it!
That incredible blue mat paper is the Navy Blue Leather paper. If you could only touch this in person, you would understand exactly how incredible it really is! And, while the photo shows some texture, it’s so much more beautiful in real life. The Leather paper is currently available in 5 scrumptious colors: White, Black, Blue, Cordovan, and Navy. This adds such a rich look to cards and other paper projects without a lot of added bulk. It worked perfectly on this masculine design and would be awesome on really feminine designs as well.
The photo above really shows of the dimension of this card that was achieved by placing just one of the hearts on pop dots. All 3 of the hearts were cut using my Cricut. I manipulated the shape and size of them in Cricut Craft Room. I cut 2 layers for all of the hearts. Since I used the Brown Bag Kraft in the text weight, I needed to add some heft to it so it would emboss more easily. The text weight Brown Bag Kraft paper is one of my absolute favorites. It offers so much versatility! Not only can you double it up for great deep embossing like I did here. You are able to print on it beautifully. I love to print digi stamps on mine and color them with my ProMarkers for a really unique vintage look and feel. The Brown Bag Kraft comes in 6 different colors; including Blueberry which I used as mats on the front and the inside of my card. If you would like to try them all, you can do so with a Variety Pack with either 2 or 5 sheets of each color. But be warned that this stuff is addictive. After you’ve played with it and discovered all of the different uses, you’ll be back for more!
On the inside of the card, I used my own sentiment….my hubby and I love “Sleepless in Seattle” and the song by Harry Connick, Jr. “A Wink and A Smile” so I had to add that little bit into the mix. The sentiment was printed on Neenah Solar White. This is my go to for any printing ~inkjet or laser jet~ for all of my cards. It is so silky smooth! Coloring digis is a dream on this paper. If you’ve not tried it, you owe it to yourself to do so.
So, that’s my card for today. Thanks so much for stopping by to take a quick look!
