Diorama Card Share

Today, I’m sharing a three-dimensional card that I created using a cutting file and my Silhouette Cameo. This is a new one for me, as I have never created a diorama card before but it was fun to make with lots of little details!

Front of the Diorama Card

Here is the front of the card.  If you look closely, you can see that the card has some dimension to it.  It’s definitely not a card for mailing since it would never survive the post office unless it was inside its own protective box! For the construction of the card front, I used Curious Metallics Cryogen White, Hambly Studios Screenprints On Edge and Overlay Teal Vintage Patchwork, and Eclipse Black.  The sentiment is stamped using Studio G’s Lots of Hugs stamp set.

Inside the Diorama Card

This is the inside of the diorama card, using many of the same papers as the front cover.  The differences include the little girl dancing, which is cut using the Yummy White Iridiescent Vellum – what a match to the Cryogen cardstock!  They both add a subtle sheen to your project, the difference being that the vellum is opaque.  It really is a beautiful effect.  More difficult to see is the armoire, which is covered in glossy accents, also cut from the Cryogen.  The mirror on the back wall is painted with Adirondak Metallics Gold acrylic paint, and the silver portion is air duct tape.  The dresser and bed portions are cut using cardstock from my stash, then inking over it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to tone down the numbers in the dresser portion.

Many thanks to Bird of Bird’s Cards for sharing her adorable cutting file!
