Winter in Iowa…

Hi again everyone!! Tina here!!   Today I am sharing a “wintery” card because, sadly, I jinxed things here in good ol Des Moines, IA.  Yup… it snowed yesterday and it’s all because I made the comment the day before about how 99% of all the snow we had on the ground was gone from the blizzard we had that shut down the schools for two days.  Ugh!  That’s what I get, huh?

When I started this card I wanted it to represent what I LIKE about snow… though there aren’t many things.  LOL  But.. I DO love that it’s soooo pretty when it first falls, shiny, sparkly, and clean!

My card started with a base of Elegant Laid white.  I LOVE this paper… the thickness and texture make it feel like such a rich, “elegant” card stock!  As you can see, I torn a bit off the edge giving a little deckled look.  I used my Spellbinders Lattic Rectangles to cut a piece from the Mica/Metallic Aquamarine paper. Love the shine on this paper!!  I printed my sweet image on Vintage Silver Lustre and used my Copics to color it in.  I added some punched snowflakes which I made from Cryogen card stock.  I added a bit more sparkle using my Stardust Stickles on the snowflakes and on the snowman and snow.  A double satin bow and some white linen thread with a Websters Sparkler finish off my card. This sweet little image is from Gina K Designs“Warm and Cozy Christmas” set.

I hope wherever you are it’s warm and sunny.  We had our share of warmer days last week, I guess.  It was in the 40’s for a few days.  But today it’s only ZERO!!!!  Yep… I’m wrapped in a blankie as I type.  Either way… I hope you have a fabulous day and get crafty!!! *HUGS*
