Enjoy the Moment

Texture. It’s all around us. You can close your eyes and run your hand through the sand or across the fabric of you clothing. You can feel the texture without seeing it.

Texture doesn’t need to be colorful for us to appreciate it or find it interesting. Our paper projects don’t have to have loads of patterned paper layers… texture and dimension will go a long ways towards creating a fabulous card, whether elaborate or clean and simple!

Today I want to share 3 projects using very little patterned paper… I want the beautiful card stock and embellishment to shine.

The first is a card that features this precious girly girl by American Art Stamps…

Look closely at this beautiful white gold hearts ribbon. It has an opaque center with woven hearts. The edges are transparent and there are gold threads throughout. Talking about texture! And that’s just the ribbon!

The Ivory Nenah Super Smooth card I used  is perfect for images you want to color in with Copics. It is also a very nice weight to use for your card bases. This wonderful dusty pink is the Double Duty card. I love the texture of this card stock. It’s wonderful texture  reminds me of water color paper. Another way to add texture and interest is through the use of interesting embellishment .  The gold nail heads around the focal image add a smooth shine that really helps make the image pop. Patterned paper is kept to the bare minimum.

My next project is a little post-it note holder featuring another girl girl image by American Art stamps. ( I adore this stamp series!)

Here we have the Dusty Pink Double Duty card stock as a base as well as one of the layers. The Corrogated pink paper adds tons of texture! Again, the image is stamped and colored with Copics on the Ivory Nenah Super Smooth card stock.

And last  I have a CAS card to share.

Even a very smooth, nuetral  colored card stock like the Ivory Neenah can be given fun texture with an embossing folder. One big button and one tiny bow… there you have it! Very little patterned paper used at all.

So relax, pull out those beautifully textured papers and card stocks from The PaperTemptress and a few simple embellishments and make a card! No digging for an hour for the perfect patterned paper allowed!

Hugs all around,

Diana
