Sharon Briss: Blooming with Lustre

I am in love with the fabulous versatility of the Silver Lustre line of papers!  When I first discovered that I could color it with distress ink, I was delighted.  It’s so fun and such a wonderful look!  Today, I have added one more layer of ink by overstamping with a background stamp in a second color range.

For today’s card, I also used the Inner White Space and Distressed Lustre techniques to create an ATC which I then mounted on a coordinating card.  I started off by sponging Milled Lavendar onto an ATC-sized (2.5″ x 3.5″) and a 3.5″ x 5.0″ pieces of Laser Silver Lustre fairly evenly.  Then, I added some Dusty Concord around the edges.  To finish off, I overstamped the Sandy Beach Background (Beach Babes plate, Rogue Redhead Designs) with Chopped Sapphire onto both panels and added a checkered border (Floriculture, Rogue Redhead) to one edge of the ATC.  I set these aside for a few minutes so the distress ink will dry on the Lustre.  It has a fabulous rich finish!

While my panels were drying, I stamped my two sentiments and the cosmos bud (Floriculture, Rogue Redhead) onto Heavenly White.  I stamped the cosmos bud again onto the ATC-size panel with StazOn ink, letting some of it dangle off the edge.  I cut out the words and matted them with black.  Then, I cut out the white bud and affixed it atop of the inked panel.  I added the words, some old text which I distress and then matted the whole ATC panel with black.

I finished off by matting the larger panel onto black and affixing to a Classic Linen – Pearl White base.  I loved the mix of the black and white with the soft purples.  I made this card for the “Think Outside the ATC” Rebel Challenge at Rogue Redhead Designs.

I hope you have enjoyed this card!  I really want to thank Patricia for letting me have lots of fun playing with her great papers and cardstocks.  It is such a wonderful creative boost to have such amazing products with which to work!
