Summer Camp week 4

This is my last week of the very fun Summer Card Camp, I am sad :(  but happy with today’s card even though I spent at least 6 hours on it and it transformed a dozen times LOL!  I loved this weeks summer card camp video since the technique taught was one of my favorites….Faux Letterpress with Impressibilities or embossing folders.  Then she really blew me away by also using clear cardstock and regular cardstock on the front of her card.  Right up my alley!  Here is what I came up with:

You may not know this but I am a HUGE whale and dolphin lover. Well actually any sea animals. If you asked me if I could do anything, absolutely anything, what would I want to do? I would pick swimming with a pod of orca whales. I could die during that adventure and I would still die a very very happy person.

Okay after that little look into my soul let’s talk about the card.  I talked about the ocean since obviously this is an ocean themed card.  I purchased the amazing dolphin stamp from one of my favorite stores Susanna’ss Custom Art & Card Design.  I could (and do) spend a fortune there, she carries just about everything so if you haven’t stopped by lately be sure to visit it soon!  I probably should have used white Staz On instead of the blue but didn’t.  I did discover that you can cleanly remove staz on from clear cardstock with rubbing alcohol, (learned by mistake) so maybe I will remove the blue dolphin and try it with white Staz on.  I used Spellbinder’s Sea Scape Impressibilites,  Brilliance Pearlescent Ice Blue ink, and my all time favorite Silver Laser Lustre to create the Faux Letterpress design.  You can’t really see it but I used Blu Rasberry Pop Tones 100# for the base of the card (well you can see it behind the clear cardstock).  I used PaperTemptress’s Double Thick Crystal Clear for the clear front.  I applied it to the card with some sticky strips so it would have some dimension (you can’t really tell this by the picture but it does stand out 1/8 inch).  Then I added a few amazing rub ons to the inside of the card, a couple of pop dots, some ribbon from my stash and Wallah, an adorable card (at least I think so)  Hopefully you do too.  If you ever get a chance to take one of the Card Camps please do, it was very fun and creative.
