Hello Temptresses! Anita H. here with my first post as a member of the team. I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with my hubby and two gorgeous blonde daughters…oh and two cats and a few surviving fish. Cardmaking has been my other life for about seven years now. Like so many others, it all started with a home party and grew from there. I became a demonstrator to cover the costs of my addiction and then I moved on to new companies with different styles. I love rubber and digi stamps equally, but lately I tend to favor digi…which makes this post even stranger. My husband’s family coat of arms has an owl in it, so we’ve kind of adopted the owl as a family symbol. I look for owl stamps everywhere. I found this one at the local stamp shop the other day and after seeing some samples done with this line of images, I had to have it. First I did a really simple, no coloring version.
This card features the Laser Black Glossy Lustre and Cyber Grey Iridescent (image and mat) papers. With such a detailed image, I thought a clean & simple layout would be best.  The stripes and the shine of the papers give it a really rich, elegant feel. But then I felt like it was a bit too plain. So I decided to make something fun & bright.
This card has a lot of texture too. I used Cryogen White for the image (I am in love with this paper). The yellow is Textured 80 lb in Yellow and the pink is Mica/Metallic in Azalea. I’ve always loved bright color combos. I got the idea for coloring the image this way from the sample in my local store. It’s a lot easier than it seemed, really. Â The beautiful black ribbon is also from Paper Temptress… 5/8 inch Opulence Black.
So….which do you prefer? Muted or bright?
