Dino Wall Art–Norma Anne Chattin

I’m Norma Anne Chattin, AKA the Artful Tourist, and I’m another new designer on the Paper Temptress team. (more below)

The Project: For my first PTDT post I’m sharing a framed piece that now happily resides in our living room titled “Dino Wall Art–Grandpa & Sam.”

hybride layout featuring Silver Lustre text weight papers

Dino Wall Art--Grandpa & Sam by NAChattin 2011 for Paper Temptress

This design features two of the Silver Lustre text weight papers along with a Teal Grandee Felt cardstock background, a touch of  Stardream Gold cardstock on the sun and a silky satin ribbon from the Paper Temptress ribbon collection. All papers and ribbon  used in the creation of this project are from Paper Temptress  and none were harmed in the process—grin.

The Process:

First, allow me to  gush over the way the Silver Lustre text weight papers perform in the printer—they add a whole new dimension to digitally created projects.

When I read the Lustre product description that said “prints beautifully” I knew I had to try printing a full color digital layout. I am pleased to report that this paper performed magnificently in my laser jet color printer.

When the digital layout base was printed on Vintage Silver Lustre text it just thrilled my creative spirit. It really does appear that the inks float on the paper and gives an almost holographic effect. The pop up border, title, and butterflies were printed on the Canvas Silver Lustre text and combined beautifully with the base for 3-D embellishments. I accented the layout with inks, glitter, gel pens and added a knotted piece of 3/8″  teal silky satin ribbon. The layout is matted with the Teal Grandee Felt before framing in a gold wooden frame.

Getting to know each other…

Living in glorious South Florida with the first boy I ever kissed (and then waited 30 years to marry—grin) we are surrounded with lush greens, sandy textures, ocean waves, and the pitter patter of two sets of Jack Russell doggie paws. Our catch phrase is “we have a good life” and we savor every moment of it. We share a large collection of family and friends locally and around the world.

As a paper artist for over 15 years I savor cardstock and text weight papers like a fashion designer loves her fabric.

I publish my own rather unwieldy web site at www.NAChattin.com and have a blog feed on the home page. You’re invited to visit there for more detailed supplier information, extended tutorials, variation ideas, and articles related to the Paper Temptress designer posts.

I am honored and thrilled to be a part of the Paper Temptress design team. I look forward to inspiration from of all the designers and members and of the PT community.
