Pool Bear by Holly Brown

Happy Friday, everyone! My name is Holly Brown, and I am so excited to share my first Design Team posting with y’all today. As you can probably tell by my “accent,” I live in Texas with my husband and our fur babies. I’ve been stamping and paper crafting for about 10 years now, but I’ve been in love with paper since I was a little kid. From cutting construction paper with dull kiddie scissors to buying wide ruled paper and Trapper Keepers to cutting cardstock with paper trimmers and die cuts, I’ve always had paper within my reach. Joining  the Paper Temptress Design Team is a paper lover’s dream come true. 🙂

To be honest, when the time came to cut into my gorgeous new stash of paper, I hesitated. Who could cut into this pretty paper?? But our fearless leader, Patricia, is always urging us to USE our paper, not hoard it. So I am proud to say that I did it. I cut into that paper and I made this fun summer-themed card for you today:

To start, I stamped this adorable Beach Bear image from I Brake for Stamps onto some Cryogen White Iridescent. After I colored it with Copic markers, I cut it out. I cut some of the leftover pieces of the same Cryogen White Iridescent with a ric rac die and colored them with a red Copic marker. You can see how shimmery the bear and the red ric rac are in this picture below:

Isn’t that awesome? It sort of looks like the sun is shining down on them and the water is reflecting off of them. See that soft blue paper that is all wavy and looks like water? That is the cool Sky Blue Ruche – how perfect is that for simulating water? I’m in love with this Ruche paper now and I’ve got all kinds of ideas for using these! 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project today. I look forward to sharing more projects with y’all over the next several months. Enjoy your weekend!
