You Make Me Smile/Friends

Good morning.  My name is Stephanie and I am thrilled to be a new member of the PaperTemptress design team.  I love working with paper and this team is going to be awesome.

I’ve been married to Gary for 30 years and we have a 16 year old son, Christopher, who is an avid sports enthusiast.  You can find me at every Lacrosse, Roller Hockey, and Ice Hockey game he has during the course of the year taking a huge amount of photos.  Hey, a mother has to have some pictures of her teenager, right!  I have been crafting for what seems like forever, and love to create cards and altered items as well as layouts.

I am amazed at the wonderful selection of papers sold here at the Paper Temptress store.  I  love the huge selection, the textures, the types, and the colors available.  I have never seen so much wonderful paper in one location and the best part – Patricia will ship just one sheet of paper if that’s what you want.  How awesome is that!!!!

For my first card, I used the Cryogen White Iridescent paper onto which I stamped my image from GinaK.   This paper is amazing to use with Copic markers as it holds the markers beautifully and allows ample mixing/shading of colors.  As a bonus, it also allows some of the glimmer of the paper to shine through.  Sky Blue Ruche was used to back my image – check out that texture.  Both papers cut and embossed beautifully with my Spellbinders dies too.

I created the card base from some pattern paper on hand which I formed into a card with Spellbinders dies, then layered the elements on top.   The sentiment from Technique Tuesday was stamped once the card was assembled as I wanted it to flow off the page.  A little Clearsnap Smooch Ink was used on the grass tips and the water for a little added sparkle.

My next card also uses Cryogen White Iridescent paper along with Sky Blue Ruche, both of which were again cut with my Spellbinders dies.  The Flowersoft Stamp used in conjuction with my Copic markers works amazingly well on the Cryogen White Iridescent. The base of my card uses Olive Brown Bag. This is a great double sided paper which, true to it’s name, is green on one side and brown on the other side.  It  also embosses really well – check out that texture!  I machine stitched all my layers together then added the sentiment from GinaK which I stamped on Cryogen White Iridescent and die cut with a Spellbinders die.

Have a great day.

Stephanie
