Facebook sent me notification a couple of days ago that my neighbor and friend, Marty, is having a birthday today! I had really really been itching to create something anyway since I hadn’t played with ink and paper for a few days and my muse was screaming at me!!
I feel very fortunate since there is a lot of talent that lives in my apartment building! I have both an amazing painter and a musician as neighbors. Marty is the musician and the lead singer for a local band Corduroy Jim. I often create the fliers for their gigs. Love doing them. I swear when I grow up I am going to be a graphic designer LOL!
I wanted this card to be edgy so I immediately remembered the awesome stamps that I have that were created by an amazing artist that I have since befriended thru one of my Yahoo groups Inky Fun Stampers, Lea Cioci. She even has a book published that I referred to when I was coming up with inspiration for this card, Creative Art Concepts for papercrafts. An excellent book, I highly recommend it. The stamp line that this image came from is Lila’s Diving Play Stamps from After Midnight Stamps. I have blogged about After Midnight stamps before but just discovered that Linda has the lowest price I have seen for Copic Refills ($5) and an extremely low price for Copic Markers too, just $4.25 each. WOW!!! After Midnight stamps also carries a huge line of amazing stamps plus are the USA distributor of Krafty Lady molds which are the greatest molds to use for clay, UTEE, or Opals which AfterMidnight stamps is the USA distibutor of also ! I own many of the molds (many many many many LOL)!
I must have changed the design of this cards a dozen times LOL! I tried several techniques but ended up using Alcohol inks and the marbling technique (a favorite of mine) that Tim Holtz taught us all!  I love this stamp….Attitude is Everything!!
I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I enjoyed creating it and Happy Birthday Marty!
