I have been making cards all week (dang I hate it when that happens NOT 🙁 .   It really is nice being the PaperTemptress when I go to start designing since any color, weight, finish, and texture is here for me. I am so in love with the new Pop Tones 100 lb cardstock and love the fact that I can make an envelope that matches exactly with the 65# Pop Tones. This card was made for my daughter’s friends 1 year old bday. Pretty simple but was very cute.
I used the Vanilla scented embossing powder from Cornish Heritage Farms so it smells like birthday cake too!! Yummy, I LOVE birthday cake!! Base paper is the Pop Tones Hot Fudge 100 lbs, the envelope is the Pop Tones Hot Fudge 65#, the image is colored with copics on the absolutely fabulous Heavenly White. The designer paper is from DCWV and the image is from Pink Cat Studios. I LOVE LOVE their baby stamps! I am sooo excited since they are also offering digital stamps and I just saw digital cutter files.
And then on to my Grandson’s 4 th bday card that I made today. Now this card is actually made for Nate’s brother and sister to give to him since the monkey image reminds me (in a very very cute way) of my little monkeys. As most of you know my grandbabies are my heart walking outside of my body so I hope you can see the love in the card.
I must really like this designer paper from DCWV since I used it in both cards (I hadn’t even noticed until now LOL)! Most of the embellishments also come from DCWV Spring chipboard embellishment pack which coordinates with a different paper pack but worked out PERFECTLY with this card. The base is Blue BASIS 80#, the other mats are all from the Astrobright Colored Cardstock line. I don’t promote that paper line much but it is really nice inexpensive cardstock. It is 65# cardstock and come in 20 really fun colors. The kids love this cardstock. Every PaperPrincess or Prince has ordered it. Perfect paper to use as mats (I am a very frugal person). I am going to tell you all a secret…..I wince when I see expensive cardstock used as a mat….sshh(don’t tell anyone LOL)! I know a lot of people cut a big square out of it or to be more specific cut out what you can’t see and use it on another card. Now that doesn’t make me wince but makes me 🙂
I want to take this time to thank all of the amazing designers out there that I have followed and as you can see..have learned from…I am really starting to feel comfortable in my own style but this is only because of all the amazing talent out there teaching me and showing me the way. THANK YOU TO ALL!!
