Votive Candle Cover

Do you have some end of the summer parties planned?  Or perhaps you want to create some ambiance at the end of a busy day.  This vellum cover for a votive candle certain will set the mood.

It’s simple to make but will wow your guests and family.  My glass votive holder is 2.5 inch tall so my paper was cut 2.75 tall to give it a little height over the edge of the glass.  The width of the vellum is 5.25 inches.  (Cut 2 pieces.)  I started off by stamping flowers all over the Heavy wight clear vellum.   Then heat set your ink if desired.  I added a torn strip of Tartan Green Felt Grandee for texture and contrast.  Then, stack the two pieces and poke holes with a large needle evenly across the sides.  I threaded gold cording into the needle and whip stitched along the side and tied the cord in the middle.  Lastly, I added primas, rhinestones and ribbon as embellishment.

Here is a view of it when lit.  By changing the images, papers and patterns, you can make this into any style desired.
