I’ve been wanting to make a little gift ensemble for a good friend who listens to me and likes a lot of the same things that I do! She doesn’t stamp but I thought she might like a decorated notebook and pen set to make lists for the store or notes to her kids.
The Paper Temptress has some fantastic plastic like paper called Plastic touch Cardstock that has a great texture and is really stiff and durable…Perfect to make a cover for a blank pad.  (I used the Bordeaux color.)  My pad is 5×7 inches and about 1/4   inch thick. I cut my paper to 10 1/2 x 7 1/8 to accommodate a tiny margin for an edge around the notebook when covered. I scored my paper  at 5 1/8, then flipped it…and scored it again at 5 1/8. That way, the edge for the spine was centered correctly for the thickness of the pad.
Next comes the fun part…decorating!! The skys the limit. I used Black Crepe and Gold Sparkle paper and added some Origami paper to get the Asian vibe going.   I found a charm that mimicked the one the fairy is holding and used it to embellish the notebook cover.
You can easily made a papercraft project into an ensemble by creating a matching gift card with coordinating papers. For the 3 inch note card, I used Black Crepe as my base. I sponged blue ink on the Heavenly White Premium US CS to give a little color and to match the organdy ribbon.
I lightened this detail picture enough so that you should be able to see the sparkles in the gold and the texture in the crepe. I added a decorated pen…and voila! A gift ensemble that would please any friend!
If you enjoy gift giving and decorating pads of paper, be sure to add the Plastic Touch CS to your next order. I know that I will be!
