Christmas in July

It’s the middle of the year, the hottest time of the year…so you know what that means….Time to start your Christmas/Holiday Cards!  Why not jazz up your holiday time with some of the snazzy papers that are offered by the Paper Temptress!

Time is short during the holidays but it goes quick during the summer months too.  Save some paper crafting time by using the textured paper.  I used Classic Columns Red Pepper as my base.  Its striped texture is  prefect for a classic Christmas Card.   Although you can’t see it very well in this photo, the Tartan Green Felt Grandee has a slight texture to it too.  I decided that this card needed some sparkle…so out came the Gold Sparkle paper.  Here is a detail view to see the shimmer:

I stamped the image layer with craft ink and embossed it on HQ Watercolor Cotton Paper.  Typically, watercolor paper is torn as all serious artists know.  I used a Nestability and it cut very cleanly.  I watercolored this fairy in and added stickles for shimmer.

Add a few simple embellishments and the result is a Christmas card with lots of textures and interest without a lot of extra work.
