I am a very patriotic person. I get goose bumps when I hear the Star Spangled Banner and have been known to cry at parades. So I had to make another card for our nation’s Independance Day.
There has been much said about all of the PT specialty papers and I have done quite a lot of boasting about them myself. They are all high quality and a joy to work with. However, I would like to boast about the Basis card stock. It is I suppose by the standards of PT papers, the most ordinary of the lot. What you would purchase in different colors from m0st paper suppliers. BUT…this is no ordinary card stock! The weight is perfect, the colors are crisp, and the selection is more than ample. For this card I used, Basis in blue and red. I also used Laser Gold Glossy Lustre as a mat.I keep forgetting to ask Patricia to send me some white glossy, which IÂ needed for this card. I had to improvise and use the backs of some scrap pieces of the Lustre line, which worked out fine.
I used a technique called the Pyramid Technique from this months issue of the Technique Junkie newsletter. If you don’t subscribe, you should go have a look http://www.patstamps.com/. I was so very pleased at the “ghostly” effect this technique gave this image. I felt it was very appropriate. All stamps are from Hearts in Touch, the Liberty sheet.
Have a happy, safe and patriotic Fourth!
