T is for Texture

Good evening everyone, sorry my post is so late tonight. My husband went on a day trip today with his 91 year old father, his brother (my husbands brother) and our son. As they were leaving my hubby asked to borrow the camera, and of course I gave it to him right away so they could take pictures on their adventure.

I eventually dawned on me that I couldn’t take a picture of my project for tonight until they arrived home…so, they are now safely home and the pictures have been uploaded and are now ready for viewing : )

When using Paper Temptress papers I am always amazed at the rich textures and deep colors. Today I thought it would be fun to do a somewhat simple card that used many various textures and just a few colors.

So, here is the card I did:

And here is a close up of the different textures in the paper:

Stamping on the Vintage Silver Lustre was easy, and it embossed very well, as you can see in the picture (I used black ink and clear embossing powder.) I then layered the Green Crepe Ruche with the Black Leather and one more sheet of the Silver Lustre added pop.

This was a quick and easy card due to the great image on the stamp from Hero Arts, and the fantastic papers.

On the inside I sprayed the stamp with the new Shimmer Mist green and stamped on the white sparkle paper for a soft image that you can write over for a message/greeting. I took a picture, however the image is blurry so I decided not to post it right now, will try to get a better picture for you later.

I tend to make blank cards more then specific cards (birthday/thankyou and so on) simply because I like having a variety of cards on hand to use for what ever reason. Of course you could easily add a sentiment to the front of the card, as well as something inside, my preference was just to leave it blank.

Hope you like the project, and make sure to try these papers, layering them makes for some very elegant cards.
