A Sparklie Bouquet

vase-on-vellum

For me, there is nothing more elegant than vellum.  Any color you might use just screams class and I was so very excited to learn that Paper Temptress has her entire vellum line at 25% off!  What a bargain.

For my card today I used Blue Sky Stripes vellum in two different ways.  My layer that sits atop my base card was run through my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folding, adding a sweet pattern to the existing stripes this vellum contains.  For my focal images, I stamped the vellum with Palette Noir ink and heat set it so that it would dry quickly.  I’m so impatient! 🙂  You just need to be careful when heating vellum to keep your heat gun moving so that it doesn’t get too hot in one spot.

I added a touch of shading to my vase and then gave my flowers a coat of stickles and topped off each center with a small pearl. While my image isn’t one that I would consider “elegant”, it certainly puts on that air when teamed up with the sophication of vellum.

Thanks for looking in, and be sure to check out the awesome deals on the current specials that Patricia has this month!
