Strawberries and Flowers

Happy Wednesday! I want to introduce you to a new love of mine, hybrid projects. In my effort to change the look of my blog a bit I came across a wonderful Digi site called The Digichick. I loved everything about this fun site. Talk about instant gratification, within in minutes of buying the item, you’ll get an email with downloading instructions – love it! For today’s post I thought I would share with you a fun project and card.

All paper is from Paper Temptress and the stamps are from Gina K. Designs new Eclectic Summer Showtime Stamp Kit. Speaking of Gina K., stop by later to check out my next post where I will share with you some exciting news…though I think most of you have heard by now, but still so fun, I’ll post it anyway.

Here’s a close up of the basket and strawberries which of both are made by templates created by Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs .

I’ve been on the hunt for Kraft paper, but not just any kraft paper, the kind that actually looks like a brown lunch bag and finally found it at Paper Temptress, it is called Kraft/Brown Bag Card Stock. What I love about it is that it comes in 8-1/2″ x 11″ so I was able to fee it through the printer in order to use Kelly’s cupcake template.

As you can see here, I only used the bottom of it because the idea of altering the template and making it into a basket came to me right away and so had to put it together. Once I cut out the template, I ran it through the Big Shot with some textured plates for added texture. I then punched two holes on either side and threaded some gingham ribbon. I then added the strawberries.

The strawberries are also templates and Kelly is great to give you different sizes when you purchase the template along with some easy step by step instructions on how to assemble them. I printed out the strawberry templates on Rockabilly Designer Series paper. I opted for ribbon instead of leaves for some more added texture. Each strawberry is filled with berry flavored truffles.

Here’s a close up of the card.

The base of the card is Red Pepper Linen paper (it is divine and so elegant!) and Kraft/Brown Bag paper. I cut out the base with the Labels One Nestabilities die and adhered 1/2 a section of the Kraft/Brown Bag paper to the bottom half. I added some faux stitching with the White Gel Pen and adhered some Black Gingham ribbon I threaded through a ribbon slide.

I stamped the flower the Eclectic Summer set on Avalanche White card stock with  Brick Red Vivid Dye Ink– another yum…this is truly the perfect red! I colored the flower in with copics and added some dazzling diamonds to the center of the flower.

I finished the card by stamping the sentiment from Eclectic Summer Sayings towards the bottom right hand of the card with black ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a great day!
