A Happy Bee-Day Card

happy-bee-day

I have a happy card to share with you today. For me, there’s nothing more happy for a child’s birthday card than using primary colors. They are bright, cheerful and real attention grabbers. So using some of my newest arrivals from Paper Temptress I jumped right in. The card base is white cardstock with a mat of Red Pepper Columns color from Patricia’s Classic Columns collection. I almost hated to cover this layer because you can’t see the columns as well, but I proceeded with a piece of ballooned patterned paper from Basic Grey. Using a Stampendous stamp set, Hap Bee Day, I stamped my happy little birthday bee onto Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the balloon again onto scratch paper, and popped it up from the rest of the image.

The sentiment also uses a layer of the Red Pepper and Neenah cardstock layered on a bright mat of Banana Split cardstock from the Pop Tones collection. I found this cute little happy face button in a stash of buttons that I’ve had forever…never thought I’d use it, but there it is!

For those who live in the US, I hope that the remainder of your Memorial Day weekend is fantastic. For those who reside in other parts of the world, I hope you have a spectacular day as well!

Lynn
