Matchbook Card

This project uses the fabulous PaperTemptress’s Mica/Metallic Emerald and Aquamarine cardstock. I really put this sheet to the test with all of the scoring, folding, embossing, taping, attaching gems, watercoloring, stamping and punching. Like expected, this cardstock performed like a champ! You’re seeing the outside of the matchbook card…………read further and we’ll go through the project for some more info!

Here’s the matchbook opened. The “insert” of the matchbook was scored on the sides, folded and attached with heavy duty red line tape. As papercrafters can attest, sometimes these shimmery shiny cardstocks are not compatible with even the heaviest of tapes (meaning they come un-stuck!). The Mica/Metallic cardstock held the tape tightly, making my project a breeze to design. That insert is held onto the base with the 3 brads you see at the bottom. So, this card had a triple layer for those little gem brads to go through. Easy with the Mica/Metallic cardstock!

The flowers were stamped and embossed, then watercolored with watercolor crayons and blended with an aqua brush. It was so fast and easy and the watercolor took to the paper like it was made for the technique.

See the cord peeking out from inside the Mica/Metallic Aquamarine?? That is attached to a little tag with the sweetest message stamped in dye based ink!

And there is the sweet message! “The only way to have a friend is to be one”. Right now, I think PaperTemptress’s Mica/Metallic cardstock is my new best friend! It performed beyond my expectations. And what a gorgeous shimmery finish to my little Matchbook Card project.

Now, a close up of the tag.

Thanks for looking!
