Tiptoe Through the Tulips

Hello and happy weekend!  The funny thing about weekends and springtime is that inevitably it will be utterly fantastic weather during the work week, when I have to be indoors, only seeing the beautiful day from my window by my desk, and then on the weekends when I actually do have time to be in the fresh air, the clouds roll in, the temperatures drop and the hint of spring all but disappears.  {sigh}

The small springtime tread that isn’t affected by the weather, are the tulips that are slowly making their way out of ground and will soon be in full glory.  I can’t wait for that!

Today’s card was created for today’s sketch challenge at Paper Craft Planet.  Adela Rossol is our hostess this week and when I saw her sketch, I knew just what I wanted to do.  I grabbed a group of my metallic papers from PaperTemptress and an old retired Stampin’ Up! set called Spring Garden.  I love this metallic paper because it’s so easy to stamp on and it still maintains it’s shimmer throughout.  This time of year really DOES sparkle with all the new growth, and sometimes sunshine (grin).

Capturing the loveliness of these papers isn’t always easy, but I hope that it shows up for you. I added a little dimension to my green panel by scoring some lines using my Scor-Pal and I found off-white lace to add before attaching my sentiment.  The bling is a necessity in my opinion (lol) and so I found a couple of places to add some of Taylor’s Tiny Twinkles.  They were just the right size for this project…not so big as to distract, but large enough to draw attention.
